Running for Senate in 2020!
It’s official! I’m running for re-election for your seat in the Maine Senate to continue working for you and championing the values we share. It's been the honor of my life getting an opportunity to be your advocate in Augusta, championing the values we share for the past 8 years as both a Representative and now Senator.
As chairman of the Government Oversight Committee and Senate Ethics Committee, I’ve passed comprehensive campaign finance reform legislation banning lobbyist contributions to sitting lawmakers and candidates, ending PAC slush funds, and shutting the revolving door of lawmakers becoming lobbyists.
Having a government of, by, and for the people is critical to a functioning Democracy. My goal has and will continue to be fighting to make Maine have the strongest ethics rules in the entire country. You deserve a government on your side and I won’t stop until I see it through.
Join my 2020 efforts to continue the progress we’ve made with a contribution to our campaign. Your support will mean we have the resources we need to compete and win.
As a Clean Elections candidate I take:
$0 in Lobbyist Money
$0 in Corporate money
$0 in PAC money
I’m not beholden to special interest groups, multinational corporations, or slick lobbyists because I don’t take a dime from them. My campaign and subsequently my legislative service is people powered and runs on common sense ideas not large checkbooks seeking to grease the wheels of government to benefit themselves.
In order to qualify as a Clean Elections candidate, I need to first raise $3,000 in ‘seed money’. Then we can fundraise only in our Senate district. Contributions are capped at $100 per person and is open to anyone in the U.S. I’m hoping my friends, family, and acquaintances can chip in to reach our goal. Your support means the world to me.
Thank you in advance for your contribution! Together we will make a real difference in 2020!
“My fight to create a more ethical, transparent, and accountable government isn’t over. I will continue speaking truth to power. The system needs cleaning up and I’m stepping up to the plate.” - Justin
